Beyond the stage, Maiesha embarked on a remarkable journey as co-founder and musical composer of Progress Theatre, a touring company that graced renowned venues such as The Public Theater, The Kennedy Center, the Apollo Theatre, and the prestigious World Music Festival in Amsterdam. Her talent as a music director also shone through in acclaimed productions like "FELA!," "In the Red and Brown Water," and "Crowns."


With a heart dedicated to the arts and education, Maiesha brings her passion to the forefront. As a former certified teacher, she has spent over two decades shaping young minds and nurturing aspiring talents. Her workshops and professional development programs have inspired countless working actors and arts educators across the country. A proud graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and Fordham University's Graduate School of Education, Maiesha serves as the Creative Director of the groundbreaking arts education program, A Bite Out of Broadway.

She has taken on the role of executive director for The Lucy Project, a production company committed to providing Black women with opportunities to create and develop new works. Through her leadership, The Lucy Project shines a spotlight on the voices that have long been overlooked, amplifying their stories and experiences.
